Calm Baby Confident Mum

A Final Word to Mum

Well here we are at the end of that first exciting year of Motherhood!

I pray that as your baby grows, you will continue to enjoy him (or, of course, her) as you have this first year.

The next few years bring their own challenges. Walking, talking, exploring, mischief. Spontaneous cuddles, messages of love, discovery and companionship.

And while this next year or two won’t be quite as physical as that first, it will still be draining at times. Especially if you welcome more little blessings into your home – and I hope you do ...

...As a mum, I hope that you grow in the confidence that you are doing an amazing job. In a fast-paced world of business and materialism that often doesn’t value mothers, remember that of all the women in the world, God chose YOU to be a mother to your child. And only you, as his mother (and along with his father), can love your child, care for your child, and prepare your child for the rest of his life, in the way that is best for him. So take this job of yours seriously!

And as a wife, I pray that you will continue to nurture your marriage, and value your husband as a partner to you in parenting, and as a father to your child. Love and cherish him, encourage and support him, and you will be, in turn, loved, encouraged and supported by him.

And at the end of the day, never forget the One who gave you this family, who is the giver of all wisdom, and who will stand by you to the end. The One whose love never fails, but “always protects, always trusts, always hopes and always perseveres.”

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life,
neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future,
nor any powers,  neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation,
will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Romans 8:38-39
